When Nothing Becomes Something (2019)
Choreographed by Emily Alden with the dancers
Performed by Year 2 Dance & Choreography students
12th December 2019 6.30pm & 7.30pm | Studio B, AMATA, Falmouth University
A 30-minute dance performance exploring everyday sound.
Often unnoticed, invisible, & sometimes wildly enjoyable, sound is an intricate part of the fabric of our day to day lives. Nine dancers explore how it can unite us & separate us through presence, action & communication & with the audience play an unfolding game bringing sound to our visual & aural attention.
When Nothing Becomes Something is an extension of In My Head; a project currently in creation by dancer & choreographer Emily Alden exploring everyday sound & hearing loss. 'In My Head' is supported by Arts Council England, Hall for Cornwall, where she is an Associate Artist & Falmouth University.
