Workshop Description
‘Ways of Being’ - Workshop and discussion led by Jo Fong
Physical workshop 11am - 4pm
Or
Join the conversation 4pm - 5pm
Breathe - Move - Notice - Listen
Jo’s practice is an evolving, interactive and playful approach, incorporating aspects of release, yoga, contact and voice techniques. As a language she has been working on self-generating scores, simple instructions/games that play out, making connection, encouraging awareness, range, presence, multiple outcomes and simple acts like noticing.
Who’s Jo?
Jo Fong is a dance artist who lives and works in Cardiff. Her work reflects the need in these times for people to come together. Her practice has been informed by notions of inclusivity, participation and is about being present, this moment, communication, listening, face to face encounters and the idea of forming community.
Who is it for?
Jo has been mixing it up working with professional dancers, actors, circus folk, musicians, singers and those who simply love to move. Levelling out the playing field this workshop invites you to invite someone who you think might be interested in moving/dancing and the question What is Community? This could be your mum or your neighbour or who is the person you would like to spend some time with? Perhaps the person where we say, “Yes, we must have that coffee”, and never do.
The act of making time, time for yourself, your body and the act of “Being with”.
This workshop flexes our ability to be with difference, move together and adapt our languages.
